Rigged it up horizontally for some low-angle macro shots and the sliding rail made fine-tuning composition effortless without touching the tripod head. The locking mechanism feels solid and precise, which gives me confidence it won't sag under my gear.

The 27.5" length is perfect for getting that low-angle shot without having to adjust the legs much. The sliding mechanism clicks into place firmly, which gives me confidence it won't slip during a long exposure.

I’ve been using this 27.5" column as a sliding rail for overhead tabletop shots, and the 1/4-20 screws that came with it held my camera securely without any wobble.
