The head opening makes it easy to slide the tie through without fumbling, and even though these are thinner than others I've used, they hold a bundle of cords snugly. I've already gone through half the pack organizing my desk cables.

I used these to bundle some extension cords in my garage, and the thinner design actually made them easier to pull tight without snapping. These are way lighter than the standard ties I've used, but they held a bundle of heavy cords without any give. The opening in the head made threading the end through a lot quicker than I expected, and 50 of them in one pack is plenty for a few projects.
